How to Get Pregnant: Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful experience a couple could ever be a part of. A woman who has been counting the days of her pregnancy duration, need to take certain safety measures and precautions in order to have a hale and hearty child such as drinking plenty of water, having a nutritious diet and keeping herself away from smoke, liquor and drugs. But what makes a woman pregnant? Should a couple when planning to have a baby need to follow some guidelines to have a healthy pregnancy days? What if you have been trying to achieve a baby but unable to be on the right track to accomplish the pregnancy? Yes, these are some important figures and facts that must be focused on while you think to build a family.

Pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg (embryo) successfully gets implanted into the uterine wall or the embryo adheres to the wall of the woman’s uterus for the development. From here the journey of woman’s pregnancy begins. Slowly and gradually the embryo turns into a baby once he/she completes nine-months of pregnancy duration and then the last process – delivery.

Natural pregnancy endures 40 weeks from the primary day of your last menstrual period (LMP) to the introduction of the infant. The pregnancy can be said of three phases, called trimesters: first trimester, second trimester, and third trimester. The embryo experiences numerous progressions throughout these phases.

Now the question comes, what makes embryo formation, how does all the process work, beginning from the intercourse to the fusion of the sperm into the egg, and so on? How can a couple knows what is the best phase to try for the baby or in a simple word – How to Get Pregnant?

Three steps of attaining Pregnancy

Let’s learn the ways of natural pregnancy and how it happens –

The Three Steps of Pregnancy –

  1. Release of an egg from the woman’s ovary – Ovulation

This is the step, where the woman ovulates – that is, a single egg comes out from the ovary.Hormones related with the menstrual cycle cause eggs inside the ovaries to develop and mature. At regular intervals or somewhere in the vicinity, one develop egg is discharged from the ovary. This is called ovulation. Ovulation is the vital factor to determine the pregnancy. If a woman has a proper and regular menstruation, then the woman might not receive any kind of hiccups during the fertilization or throughout her pregnancy.

Once the developed egg is discharged, it moves into the fallopian tube where it remains for around 24 hours. This is the time, when the sperm enters and the most motile sperm penetrates the egg wall for the fusion. As soon as the sperm reaches into the cytoplasm of the egg, the fertilization process begins. In the event that the egg isn’t prepared during that time, the egg deteriorates (separates) and monthly cycle, this means the menstruation period starts (within 12-16 days).

Note – The quality of the egg plays a significant role all through the pregnancy of the couple. if the woman is above the age of 35, it is certain that the egg might lose the capacity of being fertilized with the sperm and even if it does, then there goes no guarantee of having a healthy embryo. So, a female if thinking to have a baby, needs to try before the age of 35 because of high probability of attaining a normal pregnancy.

  1. When sperms successfully fuses with the egg – fertilization

In order to have a successful fertilization, the couple needs to undergo intercourse during the ovulation phase (or a day or two day prior). Once the partner ejaculates his semen discharge inside the female’s vagina, the sperm travels near the egg (in the fallopian tube). Sperm is contained in the semen which goes up the vagina, through the cervix and uterus and into the fallopian tubes where the eggs is supposed to be present.

What makes sperm travel or swim near the egg? It’s the motility and sperm count – to have a positive outcome, one must have a motile sperm and above the average count of sperm. If the sperm is of poor morphological structure or has less motility then the couple might face hard time to have a baby.

When the sperm has effectively entered into the egg’s cytoplasm and cell division begins – this process is called as fertilization.

  1. Implantation – Fertilized embryo adhering to the uterine wall

Fertilized egg is now referred as embryo. As soon as the embryo gets formed, it attaches to the uterine lining of the uterus. If the embryo doesn’t get any interruption during this phase and has productively fixed into the uterine lining, the chances of pregnancy is high. But if it is not then the embryo gets flushed out of the woman’s body with her following menstruation cycle – although this situation occurs in rare case of the women.

Early symptoms of pregnancy in women

Some common signs of pregnancy in women can include –

  • Missing of the menstrual cycle
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • A bit tired
  • Peeing more than the usual
  • Swollen or tender breast

The best way to know whether you are pregnant or not to give a pregnancy test. Pregnancy test can be taken at home also or if you wish to contact the doctor then the ball is in your court.

Closing Lines

Pregnancy is a crucial matter and for few couples, it could be complex as well. Numerous elements are required for it to happen: the production of the sperm – its count and the motility, doing intercourse during the ovulation phase of the woman, woman’s ovulation and of course the –quality of the egg, fertilization, and implantation. Certain conditions can impact whether a pregnancy will effectively happen, for example, sperm motility and its production, intercourse during the ovulation, the nature of the sperm and the egg, and how the receptivity of the uterus of the woman is.

Sperm can get by in the female body for as long as four to five days. On the off chance that ovulation happens during that time, or not long before the sperm enters, there is the chances of getting a successful pregnancy. And as mentioned above (the three stages of pregnancy), if the fertilization occurs normally and so the embryo gets implanted, the couple likely hear the good news.

If pregnancy doesn’t happen, or the prepared egg doesn’t get embedded into the uterus, the egg will break down and be removed with the coating of the uterus and come out with the next periods.
